Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Improved Performance Ignition Coil by Original Engine Management 50015 by Cody Michels

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Recovered lost power and no more twitching in my 2001 F150!

I bought a 2001 F150 4.2L V6 with long side deck (latched top) from a friend who had a lot of DTCs. After bolting on the intake isolator (Dorman brand) and replacing the TPS (OEM Motorcraft) I was able to wet this suction cup (don't try to clean the code and wet it as it won't go through). The thing is that the car jerked (it felt like it was oscillating with small jumps when I pressed the gas pedal) when NO CEL was on. I read on the F150 forums that it could be the ignition coil or a cracked manifold, so I decided to buy an ignition coil because it's about $50. I went with the OEM brand because I had heard about it and it didn't look like a cheap brand like the others and was about $15 cheaper than a standard motorcycle coil. After half an hour of (hard to find) work I received this sucker and took it for a test drive. It was WORSE! It was because I accidentally forgot to connect coil #3 (stupid of me). After that I realized I was behind, so I plugged it in (don't forget to use dielectric grease to set it up so you can easily remove the plugs next time), took it for a test ride and WOW! I was surprised. My slow f150 (I never thought it would go so fast) amazed me! It literally took me 35-50 seconds to get to 0-60 with a bad spool. The new coil made the car feel like new! TL; DR: Throttle response is drastically improved, buy this! Likewise. If you have DTC P0171, search it on Google, there is a guide on how to fix it. Although it's about 3-4 hours. This will save you hundreds!
