I think this is a quality product for the money but there are some issues. The fill compartment is difficult to hit initially and took some time to loosen to fill. The grind setting never worked properly. Tight and difficult to turn one way or the other. Then last night the whole bottom of the pepper mill fell out of the case and into the soup bowl. Literally, the grinding block itself fell out of the block unnoticed and fell into the bowl, pouring all the peppercorns into the soup. It is clearly glued and broken after almost a year. I feel like it should have lasted longer, but maybe not. The error may have been due to difficulty opening and filling the drawer, or an attempt to set the grind size. I wouldn't know, but it seems like there should be a little warning. Even the wiring to the light was severed when the meat grinder fell out. I'm not sure what to think of this. I already had to exchange the first order because the filling compartment did not open at all.
