Works great, especially if you like the fuller flavor of well-brewed coffee in a French Press (which I love). Ideal for a cup (but no more). But there is a design flaw. I have several other large French press manufacturers (all Bodum). They all have room for a metal column/rod that screws into the bottom of the filter. This model has a removable screw at the end of the shaft. Although easy to install/remove with your fingers, you will need to do this every time you clean your press. In my case, it is washed in the dishwasher after each use. That means if you drop a small screw over the sink (remember it's all covered in used coffee grounds), you'll have to fish it out of the garbage disposal. Or, even worse, from a grenade trap. Therefore, you must remember to close the drain hole if you risk dropping it. what i think i do. Before putting it in the dishwasher, put it back in the chute and tighten it securely so it doesn't come out and clog the dishwasher pump. A bit annoying overall (hence deducting a star) but it would have been easy to change the design.
