The antenna is better than the rain cover for about the same price.

The price of this product is excellent. The cost is about the same as an NMO mount raincoat. And it's a better antenna than a raincoat. With this fender mount I have no problems with car washes etc. I live in a small town where the nearest repeaters are about 15 miles away. And most large repeaters are closer to 20 or 25 miles. I noticed a big difference in sensitivity between this and my regular antenna. This is not likely to be an issue in urban areas where repeaters can be closer and more numerous. Again I use this as an alternative to a rain hat or when roaming around garages it's great for that!
