I bought an IR thermometer for my pizza oven. This was an important accessory as there is no other way to accurately determine how hot a pizza oven has gotten. I use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the stone at the bottom of the kiln. This is much better than a freestanding thermometer as the air can be much hotter than a rock. The thermometer is very easy to use. I hold the trigger and run the laser beam over the pizza stone. This gives me the average stone temperature. I can't imagine baking pizza without this thermometer.
