It's time to buy a new thermos. On my first thermos, the plastic tab on the lid broke and would not close until I closed it. My second thermos lasted for years, but its hard plastic lid eventually broke. So I looked around and found this vacuum flask and the lid looked very strong so I bought it. Either I don't have a gasket in the cap or the cap has a design flaw, if the bottle is held incorrectly some liquid will flow inside the cap and when it is unscrewed a few teaspoons of liquid will spill into my lap and the bottle becomes sticky as the liquid dries. I've tried 3 times and each time I got a wet spot on my knees and a sticky vacuum bottle. Now the lid will prevent the bottle from leaking into your bag. Just make sure it's over the sink when you unscrew the lid or you'll spill.
