Review on Soldering Tool: Heavy Duty Electronic Magnifier by Adam Jenkins

Brass lids look glued instead of screwed, horrible packaging

Also the magnets aren't that strong as some have slipped. They are mediocre at best. The plate is flat, flat and quite heavy. As you can see from the horrible packaging picture, the rubber feet are sticky. At least they used 3M but still a countersunk hole with a screw would have been better to hold them in place. The glued brass head leads me to believe it's making a comeback. I have a project or two that I will try. But in the long run I don't think the magnetic heads will last long and need new glue. Too bad that there is no post in the base and the upper parts are screwed. Perhaps they would become more convenient for home production. I wish someone would just sell some magnet holders to people like me who already have a helping hand made of steel plate. I considered just using them with another, but they don't cost a dollar let alone the cost of a full set. They cost $3.33 each for the cost of the entire set. Then I have a steel plate lying around.

Pros
  • 3x multifunction magnifying glass, lightweight
Cons
  • No power
