As clearly stated by the manufacturer, this product is designed "to support claw or hammer toes, elevating toe tip and relieving distal pressure". It's not going to not straighten your hammer toe! They have other products for this, however I've not had any positive results with them, but my deformity is fairly severe, would say on a scale of 1-10 mine is about a 6, from 1 being hardly present to 10 being severely deformed, next to no mobility and overlapping an adjacent toe.If you're still undecided after reading the reviews, check out my detailed comment of the top critical review. If your hammer toe is severe enough for your to consider this crutch, but yet not so bad that you may need surgery (on my scale that would be 8-10) why not give it a try, they only a bit of $3 each and are fairly durable. I just bought another 4/pk and one usually lasts 1-2 months before the top breaks either accidentally or from me pulling off too hard, but also because I occasionally lose them.
