I buy 8 pieces to support the deck strings by a stainless steel cable system. I screwed 2 of these grommets into the outside top and bottom of several deck railings and inserted 1" steel tubing (electrical wire). I then pulled steel cable from pole to pole. The grommets on these hooks were just the right size to accommodate a 1- Custom EMT to wear. Worked great and looks great. I dyed the hooks to match the posts. You don't even notice them unless you're specifically looking for them.
