EXCELLENT!: Exhaust & Emissions

EXCELLENT ! Okay I know if you use all the right size parts you shouldn't be using this BUT in the real world and in a few years time nothing will be perfectly round or just the right diameter, that's where your best friend is Coat the inside and outside of the two overlapping tubes at the joint to seal the joint. IF using a band clamp for the butt joint, cover the outside of the tubes liberally, leaving a small edge on the tubes where the band will tighten and you will have a solid connection. I recommend starting the engine and letting it warm up at idle (don't rev it yet) to speed up the curing process. If you can let it cure overnight you'll have a better permanent seal, as long as your pipes are kept relatively stable it's almost as good as welding. One caveat: make sure everything is where you want it to be before you let it fully heal because when you come back in 2 weeks you won't be moving the overlapping joint you covered without messing with severely deformed with a 3 pound hammer.
