Works as intended for Muffler

You cannot use this to fill BIG holes. Anything over 1/4 inch in diameter needs to be properly filled with a welder. This paste is designed for cracks and small holes. This works for a while when patching a gaping hole because you are too incompetent to weld properly, but don't hit the product if it falls! Half of the bad reviews about Revain come from people who just don't use the products the way they were designed.

so far so good Muffler

I was replacing the mufflers on my '65 Corvette and needed to fill some gaps where the new muffler flange fitted into the existing exhaust pipe which was a bit oval. Attempts to expand the existing tube into a perfect circle met with only partial success. I tried this thing on the Corvette forums on the advice of my brother. The consistency is similar to that of peanut butter, making it easy to apply. After drying overnight to make sure it's fully cured, it's fine.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Minor

Works well, needs heat to harden

I use this to repair the seam on the resonator of my messenger. It opened about a quarter of an inch and I wanted to do a cheap fix to maybe lengthen it before it had to be replaced entirely. This stuff worked really well, the only problem was that I didn't realize initially that it needed heat to set properly. My first application cracked in a few places, then I ran the engine for 15 minutes to warm up the exhaust. I reapplied, filled in the cracks and applied a good second coat which held up…

Pros
  • understandable also for the old ones
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Instructions are missing

I would have liked more detailed instructions. I cleaned the wire, ran the car to heat the exhaust, then turned it off and applied. My appliqué was in the folds near the muffler, leaving a decent amount of metal to wrap around. I turned on a small electric heater for a few hours after applying and also did a few passes with the heat gun. Then I left it on overnight and my results were very good. After a day of riding I reapplied a protective varnish to fill in some of the stretch cracks, heated

EXCELLENT!: Exhaust & Emissions

EXCELLENT ! Okay I know if you use all the right size parts you shouldn't be using this BUT in the real world and in a few years time nothing will be perfectly round or just the right diameter, that's where your best friend is Coat the inside and outside of the two overlapping tubes at the joint to seal the joint. IF using a band clamp for the butt joint, cover the outside of the tubes liberally, leaving a small edge on the tubes where the band will tighten and you will have a solid connection.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Functionality
