I have an 8 gallon nano tank and the nozzle is great for getting more flow into all corners of the tank (since I have a bunch of live rocks) . This probably reduces the overall current a bit, but because of the waves it's worth increasing the current reaching the rocks. Waves create water movement. So if the top isn't completely covered, pay attention to how high the waves are on each side to adjust the overall water level. Otherwise a lot of salt will have to be cleaned. For me it's the feeding hole and the lid clips where the water likes to splash/slosh. My only big problem: it didn't have really good instructions and I didn't know how to attach it to my head. The bait comes with different sized mounts but I've never had to fiddle with a powerhead and trying to figure it all out underwater is a bit too much. So yeah I really need a detailed guide with pictures but I couldn't even find it online because it seems obvious to everyone else. The funny thing is that algae grows on the nozzle. my snails therefore like to jump and ride on the rotating part to eat. lol.
