I have never had a shark or expensive vacuum cleaner so this vacuum cleaner was nothing like those I have ever used. First, it was very easy to assemble. It took a maximum of 5 minutes. You don't need any tools, everything fits together. It does have some weight, but that might be because everything is compressed into a smaller, removable capsule. I was amazed at the suction power of this vacuum cleaner. When it arrived I didn't know when to use it because we had just vacuumed upright with our bissell. But after assembling it I thought why not give it a try, at least make sure I assembled everything correctly. I wasn't ready! He collected so much dirt, lint, dust and hair that I didn't even know they were there. I'm not even sure where it came from. It was out of nowhere because I was so sure the floor was clean. After making a small area, I had to make the whole house. I kept thinking about what I've been doing all my life, what the fuck I've missed all this time, my house was dirty and now I had to vacuum everything. I was able to maneuver around the dining table and chair legs without moving them out of the way. There's a nice pivoting motion in the vacuum's "mouth" that I've never experienced in an upright vacuum. The reach under the sofa is about 2-3 inches, roughly where the dirt gets in. Vacuuming the steps was easy too. The pod detaches with a simple push of a button and instantly snaps back into place when you're done. The reservoir didn't hold as much as I would like, but emptying was easy so it was easy to empty and start over. No settings or adjustments are required, so you get what you get: powerful vacuum. You can't lower or raise the brushes, making it difficult to vacuum carpets or rugs. The power switch seems to be in an odd place, but that might be to prevent accidental turning it off. Still in love with this vacuum.
