My new favorite knife.

The sharpest knife I've ever bought anywhere. The sharpening angle is perfect. This thing is like a razor blade. I use it to cut open a pocket, score one side, and randomly go through both sides each time. It will also inevitably rip the included cheap leather holster. Second, I love this knife because of the steel. I've struggled with stainless steel all my life. Yes, stainless steel is fine for people who don't spend time with their knives, but I still don't put my stainless steel knives in the dishwasher. So, in my opinion, a steel knife is a real knife, and a stainless steel blade is more than a copy of a knife or maybe a model knife. A working model, but in most if not all cases the blade would have seen a marked improvement if it had been made from high carbon steel rather than stainless steel. Well, we all know that stainless steel has its advantages over steel, but none of the advantages reside in blade performance, as stainless steel will break or chip long before high-carbon steel. Also, as stainless steel dulls, most people will buy a new knife rather than do whatever it takes to resharpen a stainless steel knife. There's a reason all those knives in your drawer are dull, because they're not carbon steel. Rust isn't even that bad once you get it. It's really only cosmetic and can be removed if you really care, but who cares? You can also clean the knife to prevent rust. I use mineral oil on the handle and blade and it keeps rust away. Also, I live in the high desert, where there's only surface rust on things left outside year-round. Now, turning to the usefulness of a knife, no, it's not a kitchen knife. It's more of a side-carry hunting knife or a self-defense knife. I used it once in the kitchen just to see how it cuts and yes it flies through veggies but for that I'd rather use my nakiri or kiritsuke which was made for the kitchen. The shape of the knife is more suitable for fine/fine cuts or knife work. The small hole makes it look more like an extension of your finger. In addition, due to the hole in the battle, it is very difficult to take it out of your hand. And yes, I would feel very safe with that defense. My hand if I had to use it in self-defense. You don't even need gloves.
