I had a really high tech WiFi meat thermometer to measure the temperature in the grill as well as my pork shoulder. For some reason it kept getting interrupted and I needed something as a last resort. A meat thermometer came to the rescue. This is great because you can leave the thermometer outside the grill and insert the probe. And that's it. You can set an alarm to sound when the temperature reaches the desired level. This alarm clock is also LOUD, so be careful, it can alert the neighbors and then they might want to grill. But I'm glad I had that fallback. Now this is my main thermometer and it's great!
