BAD MODEM? (Update: happy now)

I'm sorry to write this review. But I have to agree with the only reviewer who complained about the smell of this modem. As soon as I opened the box, I could smell that burnt plastic and circuitry smell. just like the reviewer. And I also hoped that he would go away. After two weeks of use... it turned pale... a little. But the smell is still there. If the smell was the only problem I wouldn't be writing this review. Because it will probably dissipate after a while. But I've noticed my throat looks weird and my mom has been coughing lately. It worries me about the quality of our broadcast with this thing. At first glance, the modem is exactly what I wanted. It's much smaller than my Optimum modem and works great. For this reason I added a star. But as I am concerned for my health and the health of my loved ones, I am preparing to return to the Revain warehouse using only this modem. I really wonder if this modem isn't the same one my colleague complained about and returned. I didn't find anyone who mentioned the smell. Either their noses don't notice, or it's an accident. UPDATE: Well it's been a couple of weeks and the smell has definitely gone down. It works great. I hope this continues. Now that the smell has been greatly reduced I have no complaints about the modem at all. I like that I can turn it off when not in use. My old one from my cable company didn't have that option. And my internet works fine. Thank you to the Motorola customer service representative who responded to my review. Everything seems fine now. So I'm increasing my rating to 3 stars. To be honest this could have been a five star rating had it not been for the air quality issue at the start.
