Stop Renting Your Cable Modem

I bought this to replace my SB5100 which is no longer supported by Comcast. If you can, it's worth taking the time to just buy a cable modem instead of renting one. I've had no problems with it, and with the self-provisioning software Comcast uses, I didn't even have to call. Buy it used, there's no point in buying it new if you really don't want it. I work for their competitors and have installed better cabling and hardware than Concast would use.

To anyone who says hardware doesn't matter, I offer this review as proof. The speed I subscribed to with Concast is 105Mbps. My installation was professionally done by me, I work for their competitors and installed with better cabling and hardware than Concast did with my previous Arris 6121. I have with this Motorola 7220 downloaded at an average of 125 Mbit/s. Now I get 170 Mbit/s.

Works great for me (Comcast customer)

Bought used like new and it works great. I have Comcast and I didn't want to pay these bastards monthly rent. If you go to their website they will show you compatible modems and only the super expensive ones are shown, but if you scroll down you will see all the others they are compatible with. Spend another $20. best in computers and accessories

DO NOT buy it as a Comcast modem. It's only $20/$30 cheaper than something that works ten times better. The modem was working fine before the COVID pandemic. That's when I learned firsthand why all these channels are important. This modem only has 8 channels to try. I can't get support or warranty because the signal keeps dropping. Works great for Comcast 100Mbps service

Bought for my mum. It has Comcast and uses their 100Mbps data plan, eliminating the need for a more expensive modem that can transfer more than 300Mbps. , and saves her $13 a month in rent.
