The Part That Saved Christmas

The other day my wife called me that the stove was "broken", she turned it on and the element began to glow brighter and brighter than POP, stopped working. She was getting ready to bake some treats for Christmas, a tradition at our house, and suddenly it was like the Grinch had come and stolen our roast. , ah. I was a bit worried as I wasn't sure what exact part number I needed but it looked exactly like my old one. Now I can say with confidence that this works on the jbp68mok4bs model of the GE line. All you need is a 1/4" wrench and about 5 minutes. Remove the 2 screws holding the element to the rear panel, gently pull the element forward, remove one of the spade connectors and reconnect it to the corresponding connector on the new element, then do the same with the second Wire. You can now remove and discard the old item and replace the mounting screws in the new item. The wires are short, so if you let go of a wire it will retract into the hole. If this happens, remove 4 or 5 screws from the center panel on the back of the oven and remove them, exposing the connectors and wiring, which will add about 5 minutes of run time.
