Review on ๐Ÿ“ป RGTech Monarch Indoor AM/FM Antenna, High Performance 60 Mile Range Multi-Directional Reception Radio Antenna by Jim Ball

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The strongest antenna I've tried in 40 years!

I've tried about a dozen different antennas for my VHF receiver over the years (dipoles, rabbit ears, compact "amplifiers" without a power supply, etc.). and neither was really much better than the other, although some were definitely worse. Thinking I'd try another, I ordered one of these and, after waiting for it to arrive, was surprised to find that it offered better reception than any I've tried in the past . Signal, added an extra bar to the signal meter for almost all stations that weren't strong initially, and was able to add a few more stations in stereo that I'd never heard in stereo before. Hell, I didn't even know it was stereo stations until I plugged in this antenna and saw the stereo indicator light up as I scanned the stations on the dial. atmospheric conditions. Sometimes this station isn't audible at all from my location, and other times the signal, although weak, gets through well enough that it's uninterrupted and you can at least hear it. Although it was very faint and going in and out with a pair of rabbit ears on the day it arrived, it sounded loud and clear with this antenna. Although personally I don't like the design itself as it's really quite a thin strip. The plastic is about 2 feet long and 2 1/2 inches wide or so, which wobbles and bends fairly easily, and is a design you can't just put on a receiver or on a table nearby, and the coax is pretty good. thick and inflexible, I can't deny that this is the best FM receiving antenna I've ever used and it offers the strongest and most stable reception of any type of antenna I've tested to date. I just left it on the floor behind the receiver where it was out of sight and it's still picking up signals loud and clear. After running it for about 3 weeks I plugged in a pair of RCA bunny ears, these offered better reception before getting this just to compare them again and immediately noticed the extra hiss that would play with the music , and when I checked the two channels that turned out to be stereo with the Monarch could no longer be received in stereo, so I reconnected the Monarch. Mounting issues aside due to the design, I'd recommend it if that doesn't bother you and your only concern is getting an antenna that offers the strongest reception you can get for around $20. They charged me $20 for the vastly improved signal it provides.
