After dozens of rides this bike safety helmet compares well to the Lumos Kickstarter helmet. It's a little rougher around the edges, though it's notably lacking in weatherproof electronics. Pros: + Well-integrated steering wheel controller with helmet electronics, paired every time! + Better rechargeable handlebar controller option available + Handlebar controller that can be used with winter driving gloves + Livall app is well made including ride tracking features + LED turn signals and traffic alerts are very noticeable for drivers! + Bluetooth sound is good (group connections not tested) + decent ventilation when riding with comfortable straps and chin pads + hardly noticeable extra weight Disadvantages: - electronics are not as weatherproof as Lumos, requires a transparent rain cover that can be replaced - battery status not available, must be in the app - helmet electronics is difficult to pair with the app on android smartphones - security issues with ride tracking in the app, what is the best way to limit the data? - Unique magnetic USB charging port and a red LED to indicate charging status. Verdict: We like the Livall BH62 as our primary bike helmet. Although we tried the Lumos Kickstarter, we found it less convenient and overpriced, even though the Lumos is more weatherproof.
