I have an old Suburban that has problems from time to time. When I recently replaced his fuel pump with one I bought from a local auto parts chain, I thought it was fine. The Burb has had some bizarre misfires and intermittent starting problems for a month, which I initially didn't attribute to a fuel pump problem, mistakenly believing that a new pump couldn't be the culprit. Starting and handling issues (which didn't seem typical of a failed fuel pump at the time, but in retrospect were entirely related to the non-OEM pump), I finally determined it was indeed a fuel pump issue and installed this ACDelco block. . The Burb is working GREAT again and I regret the wasted time and major disappointment caused by my decision to take a chance and buy a cheaper pump the first time. Sometimes non-genuine parts work, but when they don't, it really sucks - especially in this case, which required resetting the fuel tank again. In this case, I shouldn't have gone the "cheaper" route because it cost a lot of time, frustration and rework. This is a car repair lesson that almost everyone knows and this time I got a clear reminder.
