Review on Enhanced SEO-Optimized Door Hinge Template: PORTER CABLE 59370 by Mark Morrow

Absolute rubbish. The frame is thin and completely unusable.

Complete rubbish and so disappointed. I'm making a door frame and jamb out of solid walnut and thought this template would help. First problem: It comes with a templating bit. It's totally useless. I started practicing on a 3/4" piece of plywood. Remember I only go 1/8" deep, but I started burning soft plywood right away! Instantly. I figured if I was doing flat passes I could use them on the walnut and practiced on that. Even on flat runs, it smoked a bit and barely did its job on a single walnut plank. I thought I would just use a different nozzle but all my stencil nozzles are too big for this stencil so I have to spend another $25-$50 on a new nozzle. But even that is not worth it, since the device itself is flexible and unreliable. Thinking I could use the current setting to make a jig to use with my other bits, I started routing a piece of 1/4" thick plywood with the current bit. He just didn't start too smoke but overheated my router too. And it died! I'm furious. Useless and a waste of my time and money. Back to my own template from scratch. Sigh.
