Review on Enhanced Motorcraft MEOE58 Steering Idler Arm by Mark Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very good chunk, but be prepared for a lot of mental and physical work if you're doing R&R as a driveway project.

Installed the tension arm in the driveway. The original was in my truck. This is a 2002 Ford F-150 with 155,000 miles on the odometer, approximately 140,000 miles installed. With difficulty he pulled out the old cocking lever and almost gave up. I had to resort to purchasing the recommended cheap tool to free my old hand. I tried removing it without going to the auto parts store. The project was still difficult, but I made it. My torque wrench could not be tightened to the recommended force. I tightened it with a heavy wrench and had no problems. I check it every time I change the oil and oil the truck. I asked the dealer to align the front (four wheel drive) and all was fine. I might not have needed it, but I have relatively new tires on my truck and didn't want to ruin them. The Motorcraft part is a really strong and high quality part. I do not recommend working under a truck in a driveway if the front end is on jack stands. I would do it again but that's just my opinion. I almost gave up and called the dealer in tow, but I just didn't want to get hit. The removal of the old part was not easy in my case.
