This is *NOT* a RAID controller. This is a PCIEv2 x1 PORT MULTIPLER on SATA 2. So it works fine for connecting 2 SSDs, although RAID can be enabled with *SOFTWARE RAID* which works but very slow, can't boot, it's easier just 2 use separate SSDs. A hardware b/w raid is the only way to perform a raid. ASM1061 does not support b/w RAID, you should buy a card with ASM1061R chip which supports b/w RAID.[.] I still disagree. I've been playing around with PCIEv2 x1 SATA 2 PORT (now 3) RAID cards so I'll post a repost when I figure it out. [.] has a Marvell 88SE9128 chip that is supposed to support b/w raid. about $50 for 2 cards so it's not an expensive education. I bought a third "universal" card off Ebay that uses the ASM1061R for $30. ASMedia chips are supposed to be faster, but we'll see. And of course it could be a problem with my system's BIOS, the biggest problem!
