I now have several BeaverCraft knives and use them as often as I can. There is a lot of talk on the carving forums about this set and other BeaverCraft knives. The general opinion of more experienced carvers is that the blades are too thick. I do not agree. Sharpening and straightening a blade are essential skills for a novice cutter, and my BeaverCraft knives have held up well throughout my sharpening learning curve. I might get a set of expensive skinny blades someday, but they will be an addition to my BeaverCrafts. I've done countless projects with them on basswood, cedar, apple, pine and even plaster of paris. They are holding up very well and I'm excited about what the company has to offer in the future.
