A great tool for the job. It grips the fabric well and keeps fingers off the needle. Very sturdy, I've even used it for a giant denim/flannel quilt to thread that 6 layer denim and flannel through my old Kenmore workhorse at the intersections (press, press) and it worked great. The rubber tip(?) can be removed to use with just a metal handle if you want to use an iron to apply. It frustrates me when people leave bad reviews when the product hasn't been used for its intended purpose.
