I happened to need a lighter (I replace a disposable lighter every few months) so I grabbed this one. For the price, that's the equivalent of a hundred cheap lighters or twenty big Bic's. Of course, these are not plasma, they are susceptible to wind and only partially waterproof. This worked well for lighting my smokers. It took a while to put the tip almost directly onto the lighter itself, but it works. Very similar to the old lighters in cars. Two days out and he needed a charge. After charging, I snapped the lid off, dropped the lighter into a bucket of water and left it there overnight. The next day I pulled it out, tried it on the outside and opened it. There was no water in it and the ride was good. I've switched back to regular lighters, they're just more convenient for everyday use. But this guy will hang out like a novelty. I've thought about putting it in my travel gear, but I don't want to bet it will hold a charge until my next trip or that I'll remember to check it out before hitting the road.
