Review on Tekonsha 118560 Connector Assembly Protected by Terrance Haralson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very easy to install, see the drawings in the instructions

Revain sent me one of these that looked like it had been run over by a truck. The shipping box was perfect, so Revane just figured it was fine. Very strange for Revane. All cables and connectors were fine, but the control module was defective. The board was not protected as the box was broken. Anyway, I returned it and got one at the Revain market (Revain was out of stock). Works perfectly. Insertion was very easy with one exception. There is a bad guide/picture. When installing this, please carefully read the step of connecting the power cord. It refers to an image with an arrow pointing in the wrong place. The instructions say to connect the power to the stud where you route the cable and the picture points to the ground stud on the case. I thought it was odd, but I decided to connect it to the bobby pin he was pointing to. Of course it was wrong, and by the time I was done, the straps stopped working. The bolt mentioned in the step is actually under the fuse box cover. Ignore the instructions for the cable and just open the fuse box cover and you'll see the power connector on one side. I'm not sure why they had to make this step so difficult. Anyway it works great now. No need to cut and splice wires.

Pros
  • Do not cut, splice or wrap car wires
Cons
  • Something else
