Small and cute but gets too hot to hold.

So pretty and doesn't seem easy to break BUT: Gets too hot to hold without anything between hand and cup when heating water for coffee or tea. Even at my green tea kettle's recommended temperature of 180 degrees, it's still too hot to keep for any length of time and well below boiling point. If he only had a pen, the problem would be solved. I can only use it for small cold drinks, which I actually didn't want to use it for. :(
