I ride my bike all over downtown and have put a lot of effort into researching all the safety options available. I wear a 6ft Abus 8k chain with a Magnum #5 Master lock on my bike, it's light and locks the wheels, that's the minimum level of protection, it's basically a wheel guard. I leave padlocks and chains in three different places I visit around town. The level of protection of the chain and lock is consistent with the amount of time I keep my bike there. The maximum protection I have and where my bike spends most of its time is one of those 2ft 14k Abus chains with a 16mm Xena padlock. This combination has never been defeated. There are no videos or examples of anyone ever picking or cutting these two locks and chains. I was a bike stealing neighbor THREE times. One day, both bikes on either side of me were stolen, leaving only broken U-locks. The second time they stole a bike to my right, again with a broken lock. The third time, I returned to my bike with only the wheel and cable remaining with me. What better proof of security than knowing literally that criminals will walk right up to your bike and steal the one next to it while ignoring your own. 5 Stars.
