I needed a particularly effective broom because I have an allergic dog, lots of small hairs and dander constantly fall onto my wooden floor and I mean in the summer at the chalet where it not enough cleaning equipment. So I needed something that quickly and easily picks up a lot of fine dirt and that can be transported - I would have to carry the broom in the car and then drive it home again. This broom is excellent in every respect, and in others I would not have thought. Because it has a low profile, it fits easily under a dresser and other dust-cleaning areas I can't usually reach with a broom. The silicone absorbs dust surprisingly well, but in contrast to conventional fiber bristles, it also releases it again easily. My habit is to make a pile of trash and then vacuum it up (or you can pick up most of it with a plastic bag and then either sweep up the remaining particles or vacuum up just that to save on filter bags). The broom is also excellent on carpets. Conclusion: This is exactly what I wanted and more. It is worth a very reasonable price and comes highly recommended. Update: I had to do an emergency cleaning of the carpet today (a dog lathered it heavily because no one could get to the door fast enough to let it out). I pulled the carpet through the door, poured a bucket of water on it, soaked it, scrubbed it with this broom, rinsed it, drove the water out again, and then spread it out on a bench to dry. I wasn't expecting to use this feature, but it turned out to be very useful, especially as a quick fix. (Otherwise I'd have to pull out the wiper: a big problem in comparison.) Hopefully I won't need the wiper again, but who knows!
