Not a pre-season fan, but that's okay. Disassembled the random orbital sander, sanded down the rough edges and seasoned with linseed oil 4 times until smooth and non-sticky. This is obviously not the same as my parents' cast iron back then, but for what's on the market today, a steal for that cast iron configuration. You can't go wrong with this set at this price. Just be prepared to beef it up from the ground up to remove bumps so you can glide over the egg with ease.
