Review on Experience Stunning Visuals with Viewsonics VA2703 27 Inch Widescreen Monitor 1920X1080 by Christopher Kindler

Good screen with a few flaws

Firstly, for the price, this screen is fantastic. The picture is clear and bright. The monitor doesn't hum like some others have reported and I haven't had any issues with it after installation. This screen is mainly used for drawing in CAD, for which it is excellent due to its size. The small quirks mentioned in the title appeared during the installation. I've installed hundreds of computer monitors over the years and have never had a problem. I turned off the computer, plugged in the monitor, booted up the computer and stared at the blurriest screen I had ever seen in my life. I went to the Devices and Printers screen in Windows 7 and noticed that it uses a generic driver, which is no surprise since I haven't yet installed the drivers on the disc that came with it. When I did that nothing happened, I was still using the generic driver, still blurry. I restarted my computer, although I've never had to do this after installing the monitor. This didn't help either. I was about to pack the device up and send it back when I decided to download the driver from the company's website. This didn't help either. I really didn't feel like taking the thing apart and repackaging it, so I decided to give it another try. I uninstalled the existing generic driver, reinstalled the driver from the hard drive, restarted my computer and everything was fine. It seems like the magic step was to remove the generic driver, which seems like something you don't need to do, but it solved my problem and now the monitor is great.
