. By default it's set to Celsius and Beef every time you turn it on. The magnets aren't strong enough to hold the display to anything, so it falls off immediately. In addition, the display can only be read from a certain angle. So if it's tilted slightly, or if you look at it without a 90 degree angle, you can see all the readings.
