10 gauge - just right

The connectors are excellent, strong connections. Almost all plugs of this type that you will find are very light. You'll see them for use with the Battery Tender and things like that. These can sometimes be purchased at your local auto parts store, but again they are small. I needed to power the rear of my tractor and needed a universal high current quick connect system for various accessories. They are perfect for that. Got an built in blade type fuse holder from Auto Z that was 12 gauge and could take a fuse up to 30 amps. Run 10 gauge wires out the back and attach one of these connectors. I have a 12 volt Fimco pump in the back that draws water from a plastic keg and pushes it through the boom syringe. The pump draws 11 amps so I can just change the fuse to what I need. If I need to change accessories in the future, I just swap out the blade guard if necessary, and I'm good to go. I bought a couple of these connectors to wire up with future accessories. I am already planning to install a 300 watt inverter with one of these connectors to run a 1/6 HP submersible pump. into the pond when I have to fill a barrel from there. BTW, in this scenario I used the built in fuse holder with 12ga wires and then ran 10ga wires for the rest. Some of you may be wondering why. 12 gauge wire, the smallest wire in the circuit, is obviously the current limiting factor. But the reason I ran the rest of the 10g route was to get the least line loss over the entire length of the route. However, if I could get a 10ga fuse holder, I would. Use these connectors. You will not regret it.
