level works quite well. as it was intended. It's a very good length, not too big and not too small. The only thing that bothers me is that the corners of the aluminum are pretty sharp at the top and bottom of the plane. I saw someone cut themselves easily on one of those sharp corners. They must be removed prior to assembly.
