The first thing a switch should do is operate at rated current. It's not like this. I connected this 250 amp version to my RV's 2500 watt inverter. I have a 2/0 wire from the battery through this switch to the inverter. In the morning I turn on the 1400w coffee pot and it turns off. At 12.5V it should only be around 120A, my lithium battery handles that pretty well. Even if it bounces around a bit, this should get by without any problems. I have verified that this inverter draws 1375 watts at 120 volts with the coffee pot on. The circuit breaker should not operate under this load. I suspect the 100A switch was marked 250A. Approved. I just installed an American made 250 amp circuit breaker and everything worked fine. All I did was replace the breaker and 2 tabs 2/0 (3/8 inch hole) and everything worked fine. The new breaker was 3x bigger but definitely worth it. Unfortunately, the ceramic broke on this glass, so I can't send it back. This is one of those cases where going cheap costs me money.
