When we go on vacation, I like to spend some money on something related to travel. I have used a carabiner to attach my hat to my day pack in the past and to be honest it worked great. But since I was already thinking of a quick-drying "airy" hat, I decided on this one. The long brim was really nice and the fold down brim meant I could easily slip the hat into my pocket or into the water bottle holder that sits on the outside of my backpack. Apparently there's a metal clip version now, but the plastic clip I have seems fine.
