I was looking for something to a) remove mildew smell from old towels that weren't quite dry and b) remove melted chocolate stains from a polyester shirt where the chocolate had survived in the pocket the laundry, but melted in the dryer (damn it!) Oxyclean was ineffective on both. I sprayed the greasy chocolate stain and let it sit for 30 minutes, then soaked the towels and shirt in cold water with a quarter cup of this stuff. Leave and soak overnight, then wash. Chocolate/fat removal is 95% achieved with no product odor or mold. To remove the remaining grease stains, I used a mechanic's waterless hand wash, an orange compound. Did. I suspect oily stains sometimes need an extra soak or other degreaser in addition to this product, but overall I'm very satisfied.
