Designed for my wife's monitor lamp. The clip is not very large, be sure to pay attention to the size restrictions. Take them seriously when they say it's to be used with a laptop. It will not clip any of our desktop monitors. The USB cable is also quite short. Since the derailleur is permanently attached to the cable, you can't even use an extension cable to lengthen it if needed. It would be nice to have controls on the light itself where you use it. The lamp itself had a good range of settings. Cold and warm settings, the dimmer works in any mode.
