This handle is advertised for bathroom use and I think it would be great for that purpose. But I bought it for a slightly different purpose. We needed a security handle for my father-in-law in his bedroom next to his door and closet. My father-in-law has balance problems and can fall if he doesn't hold on. His bedroom is too small for him to easily use a rollator, so he has to hold on to furniture or walls to keep something steady in his hand. Unfortunately, there is a spot in his room where he has to maneuver without holding on to anything to get to the next point. This area is next to his door and closet. I rotated the bar on the side so it moves left to right instead of top to bottom. This allows him to grab the bar when he enters his room and move it when he needs to reach a chair or bed rail. It also allows him to access his closet and pull out his clothes while still holding something. The only reason I'm giving it four stars versus five is because the spacing between the holes doesn't line up with the studs in the wall. This issue was a problem whether I placed the bar as it was supposed to (lift up and down) or how I set it to swing left and right. I ended up finding wall anchors for large screws (bolts) that allowed me to hang it securely. So it was a "godsend" tool!
