Most sponges are junk
I may have lost the quality of the sponges over the years, but Scotch branded products are generally expensive so you can rest assured that their sponges have a reasonable keep time . Expect a couple of weeks. before they fall apart. I don't use them to build up solid fat, so I use quality Teflon pans that last a long time. For them I use a sponge for all surfaces. But these sponges should hold up to regular dishwashing. They are basically garbage.
