I understand that technically this is not a stereo device that would require two speakers. However, like all my other Bluetooth devices, it SHOULD play both channels. I emailed the company to see if mine was defective. After three salvos of emails, I seem to have made it clear that one "side" (the left channel) of the song is missing. I did a side by side comparison with the Jawbone Mini jambox (similar in that it doesn't have two speakers) and the left channel was loud and clear. As I only use it on my bike it took me a while to realize this and in fact the 30 day return period has already passed. I'm waiting for a letter from Avantree, but I'm not very hopeful that they will actually do anything. If you want to hear both channels of a song (though not in stereo, technically), DO NOT buy this device. UPDATE: According to their tech support, I sent the unit back for an evaluation/repair and received a replacement today with both channels working. Now happy! It cost me $12 to send it to them but they sent me a working unit so thanks for the support. Upgrade to 4 runs. There are devices with better sound, but not at this price.
