I almost always write great reviews. Unfortunately I can't this time. First, let me tell you what I liked about the product. It has a surprisingly terribly loud sound that you can hear from afar. Simply pull out the pin to activate the sound. It's not very easy to put the pin back in the little hole to stop the sound when he screams (if you try but don't want the neighbors bowling to your rescue) because it's easy to of him being bothered sounded super loud. but that's okay because you don't want the bad guy to be able to just stop the audio. Now for the disappointment. I took 3 and my 88 year old mother took 3. I check mine regularly to make sure they are working and now all 3 of mine are not working. ONE of the 3 was completely MY FAULT for accidentally dropping it in a cup of water. I didn't do anything to the other two and when I tested them 2 weeks apart one was completely mute and the other about a quarter smaller. Volume. I could see the smirk on the villain's face if I was going to rely on her. I would suggest giving each of them a quick check on a regular basis to make sure they are reliable. I am planning to buy another brand to replace mine and my mother's. I gave two stars instead of one because it was a great product until they broke (after 2 months and about 4 short tests each). I just hope I got a rare failed package.
