This mounting system is very poorly constructed. It won't point in the right direction. The original OEM windshield mount has gears (or teeth) that snap at the pivot to prevent the mount from slipping, causing the (VERY) heavy radar detector to start pointing up at the sky. There are no friction pads or anything to stop the radar from moving when it's pointing in the right direction. There's not even a locknut on the pivot clamp to keep it from dangling. Every time I hit a bump, I look at the radar and it moves. 3 beats later he's pointing straight at the sky. Save yourself the trouble and do not buy this product. I ended up ordering an OEM replacement windshield bracket.
