Originally designed to be worn under helmets for added warmth, the Indie Ridge line of masks is ideal for outdoor adventures. They help block large amounts of pollen and dust, reducing the severity of allergy symptoms. Considering their durable fabric construction and double stitching (there are t-shirts made out of thinner material, to be honest) these masks will last a very long time. I've bought similar masks from other vendors and of the ones I've tried, the Indie Ridge masks have the best construction. The heavier material means you'll get hotter on a warmer day. . Even if you breathe, wearing fabrics that cover your mouth and nose for long periods of time means you can't breathe as easily as you can without some kind of covering. So get ready. It's not a problem if you're wearing this while riding a dirt bike, but it's a problem if you're riding a 10 speed bike. If you don't need to cover your face you can simply pull it down to create a shawl/ascot under the jacket. The mask stays on your face well once you learn how to adjust it; This helps if you wear glasses or sunglasses. The Old Glory pattern on my mask is a swirly design, meaning it doesn't have the 13 stripes of the real American flag. The blue part is repeated on the back of the mask. I chose this model because at the time of purchase it was both Memorial Day and 4th of July and if I need to wear a mask outside it might be seasonal too! I can't imagine this mask wearing off anytime soon, but if it did I would definitely buy from Indie Ridge again.
