If you've never brewed coffee in a French Press, use 2 tons of coffee per 8-ounce cup (adjust to your liking). First pour coffee, then water (do not boil for a few seconds), mix and let steep for 2 minutes. Close the lid and plunger, press down (do not submerge or you will splash) and pour. If you leave the residue, it will turn bitter, so use immediately. The resulting coffee is richer and more full-bodied than usual and really rounds off a delicious meal. Emceemk says to check it.
