This yarn surprised me. First, the box is good because there are velcro straps on the front flap for easy opening. The spools are bigger than I thought. The spools have a "snap latch" to secure the ends of the line. You fold the top "hem" up to remove the thread, then tuck the end of the thread under the flap and let it close. So comfortable! The variety of colors covers pretty much everything you can sew. Someone complained that there is not enough black or white, but you can replace white or black with other colors, ie. Use dark blue or dark green. There are also some bright colors. Multicolored threads 9; pink, red, purple, lavender, blue, green, orange/yellow, orange/brown and colorful spool. There are 4 pink, 5 off-white, 1 black, 1 grey, 4 red, 3 purple, 6 blue, 7 green and olive, 3 yellow, 3 orange, 3 brown and peach. I have not sewn any of them but in my 62 years I have used LOTS of thread and can tell this is a good thread. It is made in Mexico which was a little disappointing as I was trying to buy American made products. The yarn comes from Coats & Clark in Greenville, SC, so I believe it was made there. There is a whole palette of 342 colors and if I were rich I would buy them all! I was also surprised by the size of the box. It measures 10 1/2" X 15" X 1 1/2" if you're interested. This is a great storage box. I'm very happy with my purchase!
