Incidentally, after 10 years in the automotive industry, I kept driving new cars and found myself in a situation where a new car was no longer an option for me. . Especially when all the children have reached driving age. Long story short, my mom called and said she was throwing away the family Jaguar. I thought this would be my best chance to finally check off an item on my wish list. So I decided to start my first restoration in a landfill. First, the Jaguar forum recommended Foxwell. So my first foxwell scanner is NT301 OBD2 which helped me figure out the diagnosis. And so my journey began with the acquaintance with countless scanners. I ended up buying a VCM2 which I can use to flash ECM, TCM etc. However, when I got the opportunity to test this scanner, I didn't hesitate as I am familiar with the brand and more importantly with its reliability. After opening the box and turning on the scanner, he had enough battery power to do the initial setup. However, I left it charging to make sure it had enough power. Once that was done I went through the update function and did all the updates. I did this at home with the device a foot away from my router so it was pretty quick compared to another device I had. After that was all done, I first went to my Jaguar to test the device. I performed a diagnosis that led you to the choice of car. I like that they are separated by area and not all combined like my other scanner. But regions also have an alphabetical option for easier selection. Once you've decided on a car, in my case a Jaguar, you have two options; 1 - SmartVin, automatic search function (my car didn't fit, 2003). x-type)2 - Manual selection - cycles through multiple options to arrive at your specific model. After either it finds your vehicle or you select it, you are left with two options: choose either the first option, Quick Scan, or the second option, Control Modules. The quick scan was pretty quick. It scans it and determines which modules are connected to the network and what errors are associated with them. In my case it didn't detect the transmission control module not responding and I'm waiting for a new module to arrive. The DTCs found match the same codes I received when running my VCM2 with the JLR SDD software used at Jaguar Approved Dealers or Service Centres. I know my 2003 uses the old OBD2 so many features are unavailable. However, I also bought a 2004 Ford Explorer Spor Trac that my girlfriend's ex-boyfriend gave to his youngest daughter. This is where I really enjoyed the capabilities of this scanner. The smartwin picked up the car without any problems and I did a battery test on the car. I particularly like the fact that I was able to test individual components individually, e.g. B. ajar a door and turn a brake switch on or off. There were many other tests that were clearly vehicle specific. All in all, Foxwell was my diagnostic of choice, so I wasn't surprised that it was a superior product. The options and features of this device are second to none. Best of all, unlike some other devices I've tested, this device has enough memory to save reports and an Outlook client to email reports. I am very happy with the scanner and it is by far the best I have ever had. test. This experience has reinforced my belief that Foxwell is the leading brand in the diagnostics industry and no matter what product you buy you will not be disappointed. I therefore recommend it without hesitation. Great product, great features and in my opinion the price is even more worth it.
