My cat needed emergency surgery and the vet brought her back to us with a plastic cone to keep her from messing up the stitches. she could neither eat nor drink nor walk in it, and my heart broke to see her fighting like this. I immediately looked for an alternative and came across this product! was the more expensive one I almost bought which was $28 but it said it would take almost a week to ship here so I went with this cheaper one. I ordered it on Thursday and he said he would be there on Sunday. In fact it came a day early which was amazing and much appreciated! While waiting for this to be here I found a really helpful DIY tutorial on how to make one from an old t-shirt. just google "cat creeper to make yourself" and that will be the first result. The one that worked best for my cat was the last design they showed. Make sure the shirt isn't too thin so it doesn't stretch out quickly. The homemade ones I made worked, but I've had issues with them shifting or somehow pulling her arms out of the armholes. I tried taking it off at least once a day so she could clean up, although putting it back on was a bit of a hassle with all the ties. it wasn't perfect. I just got this one and put it on her and I can already tell it feels a lot more stable and secure. She weighs 12 pounds and I ordered a large size for her. it fits great and was a lot easier to put on. The material is a bit thin, which is to be expected for the price. it is nice and elastic and the velcro is strong. I love it so far! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for something similar. EDIT - Well, the first night I had her wear this, I woke up and she was somehow able to get her hands through the head hole. it was very tight on her upper abdomen and she screamed when I tried to take it off. In the end I had to cut the thread and was able to pull it off. so she doesn't do it again, I threaded the collar through the hole in her neck where the rope was. worked great. I changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars because because it was so cheap the material quickly started to curl up and form fuzzy bits because she licked it. Her tongue might catch on it and I was worried that she would swallow so much lint. I ended up ordering the more expensive one I mentioned earlier, but this one was still able to get the job done and prevented it from at least pulling out the stitching.
